    The Obama girls join their parents and others to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday

    The Obama girls Sasha and Malia joined their parents, president Obama and First Lady Michelle in Selma, Alabama on Saturday March 7th to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, the day where civil rights activists braved the KKK and police forces in one of their first civil rights marches. The march took place in March 1965.


    President Obama led the 50th anniversary march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge. The group also included former President George Bush and his wife former Laura Bush, some of the original foot soldiers from 1965, faith leaders, and elected officials in Alabama
